Fall Fashion Trends: micaela

m- Micaela is such a breath of fresh air and I am so glad we got to work with her this week. With the intent to get some more fall looks, we cozied up in our sweaters and boots but to much dismay Wilmington welcomed our day with near 90 degree weather. Luckily the temps finally dropped the following day but it was definitely difficult to imagine cold weather the heat.

Micaela's mother manages a clothing store on the Cape called Island Pursuit, so fashion definitely runs in the family. Micaela's style is certainly representative of her Cape Cod roots and we love the effortlessness about everything she wears.

Micaela's plum sweater is a 525 piece from her mother's boutique and her awesome brown boots are Enzo Angiolini she picked up at Nordstrom.

More Topman purchases came in this week and I couldn't be happier. My new dark blue herringbone 3/4 shorts from Topman have a great British feel and I threw it with a four dollar vintage orange button down top finish it up. Orange has never been my thing in the past but I am down to try something new!

Fall Fashion: teal and orange

m- Orange and teal. Last year, when studying in Barcelona, I found this AMAZING photograph of a monk on exhibit at the Caixa Forum; an old textile factory that has been transformed into a public museum just blocks from Plaza Espana. The monk was in his traditional orange garb, sitting in a boat surrounded by beautiful teal water...I was sold. This color combination is beyond pleasing to the eyes in photographs so why not implement this combination from the gods in clothing? And what a perfect model to display this combo...
Time to get comfortable in knit! Jenn is wearing this awesomely teal knit sweater that Courtney picked up in a consignment shop for no more than four dollars and this light orange scarf I picked up at the H&M on Newbury Street in Boston.
Meet our new stunning model, Georgia. Georgia's beautiful blonde is a great compliment to Jenn's beautiful black and we were so fortunate to get some pictures of them together. Georgia had some great layers going on today. We loved the heavy texture of her shirt over a silk black romper, with a faux fur vest and a heavy necklace. A lot of great things going on here.
Today's accessory of choice- pumpkin.
This beautiful field lead us right into this enchanted forest- perfect for a comfortable fall shoot.
Chords on Chords. Believe it or not, I found this teal corduroy button-down from a local Goodwill for three bucks! An awesome addition to the fall pallet that is quickly filling my closet to the brim.
Try out the orange and teal combination. It definitely makes a statement but you've been warned, when you start wearing it, you'll want it on all the time.

These are just a few of the great pictures Jennifer, Georgia, and I took today! Much more to come in our next post!

Fall Fashion: autumn solstice

m- Once again, I'd like to reiterate that we have attractive friends-stylish ones at that. Seizing the crisp cool air, which has been foreign for a while now, Courtney M, Courtney M, Haley, and I threw some killer outfits on and snagged some quick shots. We can't stress enough how important color is this season and we think that this plum, olive, mustard combination is THE pallet to watch out for. Mix in great textures and beautiful models and you have yourself a photoshoot!
Improvising a little bit, I made this tie out of some old string Courtney had around the house. This unintentionally brought a little western feel to our shoot which thus inspired the vintage vest Courtney is donning in the picture below.
Haley's outfit consists of a plum skirt from Urban Outfitters, a textured cardi from Forever 21, and a cool tank consigned from Platos Closet. Courtney's printed dress is too from Urban.
My dark chocolate chords are simple Levis and Haley's burnt mustard purse is Target originated. Haley's great chocolate booties that she got from Aldo, are awesomely perfect for our lite western look.

Leg warmers will be sneaking up on you soon. You've been warned. Now go grab you some.

There aren't too many things more stunning than Courtney M. and she proves this as she rocks her green suede heels found at a local consignment shop called Fairy Circle.
