Seasonally Black ft: Moore His Style

Happy October! It's falllllll y'allllll.
Today I went for a little walk South through Bushwick to meet up with precious angel Joel of
men's fashion blog, Moore His Style. Joel and I haven't shot in a while
SO the reunion was way past due.
Deep Bushwick on a cloudy day was giving us LIFE.
The mood was right.
Perfect for such a dreary day, Joel wore black on black on black. Classic. There is some comfort in covering yourself in black on a dark, cozy day. Leather boots make you feel more dark and bad ass on a day like today.
All black errthing.
 I mean- precious.
#bushwick
Enjoy your dark fall days in black because you can.

And Happy Fall y'all. A dark, cold couple of months ahead. Already over it.
But bring it.

Because we're obsessed.

Fall OOTD = #cream

OOTD = #cream
I've always been obsessed with sweata weatha LBH. But nothing gets me more in the mood than this cream sweata I got when I was working at American Apparel in Downtown Brooklyn last fall. It's super big and ribbed and has long sleeves and Im rambling. It's a great sweater.
I paired this great sweater with these cargo shorts I found at Beacons Closet in Bedford. The have a cool European cut and a lot of detail that I'm alllll about. I wore my standard black Nikes and Nike knee socks on the bottom.

I guess we're ready for you fall.

What to Wear to the Mermaid Festival

So the other night I stayed up with the sun and a bunch of (cute) gays on my fire escape.
Then I had to go into work for the night.
I was feeling some kind of way.
But, in Brooklyn nature, I went out after work.
Rooftop party in Bushwick with some new and old bests? I mean who wouldn't?
Look at these boys.
Over tipsy and sleep-delusional conversation, I made plans to go to
THE MERMAID FESTIVAL in CONEY ISLAND the next morning. I'd never been to Coney Island. And wtf is the Mermaid Festival? I was in.
Dreams of Beyonce in bumper cars filled my dreams. I was feeling some kind of way.
Soon enough we were on the stoop in Bed-Stuy drinkin JUICE.
Mermaid Festival prep with Charles.
And we were off to sea kids.
To be honest, I had never heard of the Mermaid Festival before.
I grew up in the South near the beach soooo we already were mermaids idk.
This is an event though y'all. People from all over DRESS UP like beautiful creatures of the sea. Anything goes. These freaking super mermaids above total set the precedent for my costume expectations today.
Coney Island.
America on a boardwalk.
Kealro
Pisces on a BACK. Look at this. (I'm a pisces) This is the first thing I saw when arriving at the Boardwalk. Where my Pisces at?
Kealro was looking bomb in his new UNIF Pu$$y, money, weed tank. It really is a beautiful piece of art. I am stupid envious. Love his gladiator sandals in the summer too.
Kealro and I both wore our American Apparel board shorts.
The Mermaid Festival is a Coney Island tradition centered around a parade put on by the local townies (and everyone cool). Basically you get dressed up with your friends and walk in a parade down the boardwalk. Anyone can join. It's great fun.
But the bar is high...these people do it right.
Still exhausted and delusional from the past couple of days, this bizarre gathering was all the more weird. And beautiful.
It really was weird yall. But so much creativity and talent.
After the parade, horizontal was all I wanted to be.
I love living in Brooklyn. Every day is a day to dress up. Every day is a day to play a new character. This place is creative, inspiring, and genius all at the same time.

I can't wait to be a merman next year.
Because we're obsessed.

Men's Floral on Waverly Place

Trend of the day: Men's Florals.
We love them. Deep coloured tropical prints are everywhere currently so I decided that deep coloured floral prints are part of the mix as well. I'm going with it.
Here are my three favorite florals ATM.
Favorite men's floral number one: Blue with Daises from a Joe Fresh in Toronto. I love the short sleeve button-up with high waisted dress pants. It's a sexy, vintage silhouette for men. Daises and sunflowers were also a theme in the 90s. I think this is another reason I love this shirt.
Joe Fresh Daisy Button-up: $35
Favorite men's floral number two: Red Daisies from Topman on Broadway in Soho.
Absolutely obsessed with this print. Topman never does me wrong.
I used to only wear Topman when I was younger....
now I can't afford it.
 #life #grownupworldsucks
I decided to treat myself for this red, white, and blue beauty.
The cut is great. The flowers are groovy. I digggggg.
Red, White, and Blue Daisies by Topman: $55
Favorite men's floral number three: Vintage Groovy Orange Floral
I semi-lust for this print. I found this groovy-ass polyester when I was on a business trip last year. I rented a car and drove to DC. Along the way, I stopped at three Goodwills in backkkwoods Virginia/NC/etc......found a Goodwill that hadn't been touched since idk the 80s.
THIS was one of the many things I bought that day.
70's Orange and White Groovy Floral: $10
Throw on a floral baby.

Because we're obsessed.
