Week of WOW model fittings

m- Last Friday, on 11-11-11, the wonderfully talented Jess James joined up with Lumina Station to put on a beautifully successful evening of fashion. Inspired by the classic movie, "Blue Velvet" in celebration of their 25th anniversary, Jess styled a fantastic fashion show full of beautiful clothes and even more beautiful models. I was fortunate enough to help Jess throughout the fitting process prior to the show and I couldn't help but blog about all the great things that were happening.
Madeline has such a unique look and Jess did a great job highlighting her stunning beauty for the show. Madeline is sporting an AWESOME Lilly fur vest in by A.L.C. that really is to die for.
Bring on the cold.
Another beautiful model. Meet Elena Wright. Elena has the perfect body for a jumper like this one by Ark & Co. We project that turbans are going to be everywhere soon so grab this knit taupe turban by free people for just 28 bucks! Every accessory Elena is donning can be found at either Island Passage or Return Passage- awesomely fashionable,
and appropriately affordable clothes located in Downtown Wilmington.

Madeline looks fantastic in this Gold sequin dress by Tibi, paired with another fur piece by 525 America. Below is a great little leopard belt by Tory Burch- a perfect way to top off the look.
Katelynn had a great, day-time look that we fell in love with. Katelynn is wearing Free People shorts and awesome leather loafer heels by Seychelles. These fun, fingerless mittens by Knit Bonbons are an affordable way to warm up an outfit. Don't forget this faux fur alternative by Ya for just 58 dollars!
Ok so, Im OBSESSED with these accessories by Salu Metal Media. SUCH a unique and innovative way to add some life to an outfit. Awesomely industrial and easy to wear, these pieces should be everywhere. No really.

Emily is a perfect canvas to display this green velvet tunic by He&Me Apparel and more Salu Metal Media pieces. Way down there in the picture on the left are burgundy crocodile bootlets also by He&Me and will also be everywhere in no time so go get some now.

Wilmington's Gentleman's Corner provided exquisite pieces for the male models for the night and Peter and Simon wore it all well. I especially love these vintage metal collar tips Jess found at Wilmington's own Bargain Box.

Fall foliage

c- Greenfield Lake is a magical place with impeccable beauty during the fall.  The changing leaves created a beautiful atmosphere over the lake and the scenery was incredible.  Carissa, Gina, Taylar and I walked around in search for different places to show off our autumn outfits and great accessories.
Gina is wearing a beautiful sheer top from H&M, jeans from Genetic Denim and killer wedges by Franco Sarto. Sheer tops are a great staple to have this fall and can be worn best with skinny jeans or a pencil skirt. Tan wedges help to make this daytime outfit even more stylish while complimenting the colors of fall.
Taylar is wearing a beauitful sweater originally from Torri/Bell in Wilmington, NC but was purchased at Encore! Consignment Boutique.  Her shoes are from shoe dazzle and are the perfect addition to skinny jeans and a long sweater.  The tie on her sweater give the effect of a cinched waist to balance out an oversized sweater.  Taylar looks effortlessly fantastic in this outfit.
Carissa is wearing a beautiful blue top from Forever 21, a scarf also purchased at Encore!, pleather leggings from necessary clothing and plum wedges from Bakers.  Wedges and pleather leggings are a fantastic way to show off your sense of style while remaining comfortable.  The scarf dresses up a plain top for the perfect everyday outfit.

It doesn't matter if you're black or white.

m- With all this color lately, we didn't want to leave behind good ole black and white! After a long day of class, Courtney and I decided to get a little fashion therapy and throw on some outfits and get some quick shots. So we packed our favorite black and white outfit, some awesome accessories, and blasted Gaga for inspiration. The back of an old movie theater served as a perfectly simple canvas to display our outfits for the day.
Cold weather = combat boots.
Ok, so. I may or may not be obsessed with these shorts. Although obsessed, I have had some trouble finding the perfect outfit to display these beauties. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I could wear these Topman shorts with almost anything. These high-waisted shorts scream for suspenders, so I definitely didn't want to deprive them of that. With a simple black v-neck from H&M I think this outfit turned out well!
Courtney is a chameleon of style in my opinion. She knows how to appropriately style everything from her hair, to makeup, to accessories depending on the look she is going for. Today Courtney went a little edgy and rock&roll with her H&M maxi dress and my cassette necklace I found off Las Ramblas in Mango's HE line in Barcelona. Oh, and don't forget her red lips for a pop of color.
Layer, layer, layer. Cover your arms with accessories! This wrist became a work of art when Courtney added this awesome gold bracelet to the bunch. I tried to display multiple worlds with my 25 cent watch from Goodwill (always set to 11:11 for good luck), Yurman, and gray leather band from Bloke and I think it was successful.
